Refrigerator Savings Calculator (Source: ENERGY STAR) – This Refrigerator Retirement Calculator is designed to provide an estimate of the savings associated with replacing or removing an old refrigerator or freezer with a new ENERGY STAR certified model. Actual savings may vary based on use, upkeep, and other factors. Assumptions are based on a combination of historical data (adjusted for degradation based on the age of the refrigerator/freezers) and calculations cited in the ENERGY STAR specifications.

Solar System Cost and Savings Calculator (Source: FIndSolar) – Use this solar calculator from FindSolar to estimate the solar cost and size of a solar energy project in your area.

Gas Mileage and Electric Vehicle Calculators

Electric Car (EV) Calculator (Source: BeFrugal.com) – Is is worth buying an electric vehicle? The answer to this question depends on a number of factors including: your driving habits, gas prices, price of electricity and how you value the environmental impact of your driving. To help consumers decide if an electric vehicle is the right choice, BeFrugal.com created a calculator that will compare the financial and environmental costs of buying an electric vehicle versus buying a hybrid or standard gas powered car.

Fuel Cost And Savings Calculator (Source: US DOE) – This calculator from the DOE’s fuel savings.org site enables you to compare the gas mileage of two cars and potential savings. For example, a vehicle that gets 30 MPG will cost you $903 less to fuel each year than one that gets 20 MPG (assuming 15,000 miles of driving annually and a fuel cost of $3.61).  Over a period of 5 years, the 30-MPG vehicle will save you $4,515.
